Wardy Hill like most hills in the Fenland, really isn't a hill. Its a very small hamlet on the edge of a ridge running between Ely and Earith. The land around Wardy Hill is agricultural and the earth is turned once a year, rather like the planet. The surface of this painting has been scored, scratched, gouged, scraped, layered, re layered.............ploughed and seeded.
Materials: Oil on canvas, Paper, PVA, Graphite stick, Earth.
