I really would have thought that after thousands of years of civilized human existence we would have worked out that killing each other is stupid. It really doesn't get us anywhere. Most of us seem happy to accept it as a necessary part of life, as long as we are not directly involved of course. If we stopped killing each other, we'd actually be able to use our diverse perspectives to come up with clever solutions to other problems. That's why we are all different after all.
