Artist's description:

This 74cm x 37cm watercolour shows Mount Subasio in Umbria, Italy. At one end is the magnificent town of Assisi, where St Francis and St Clare were born and the othere end is Spello. An ancient town full of old gatehouses, churches and a Roman amphitheater.

When you drive along the SS3 Superstrada below Subasio you pass a number of distinctive churces at the side of the road. These are replicated at the base of the painting, the large trees in the foreground are stylistic representations of the master artists who worked in the area, Lorenzetti, Giotto and Pinturicchio.

The mountain is also home to a number of vineyards, olive groves and woods, eventually trailing off into a scrub land crown. This is a gorgeous area and should you climb to the top, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Tiber Valley. Will ship worldwide.
