Artist's description:

This work was produced as one of a series of works for my solo exhibition in collaboration with an English poet Gary Boswell, "'I wandered...' A celebration of the 200th anniversary of the publication of William Wordsworth's 'Daffodil' poem" at Rydal Mount in 2015.

The scene depicted in this work is the view from the mountain ridge of the Fairfield Horseshoe, one of the popular walking routes in the heart of the English Lake District. William Wordsworth was said to walk on this route often and the scenery has hardly changed since his lifetime. I attempted to create a potential dialogue regarding how this ancient landscape embraces the human intervention gracefully. Walker is a work for a dialogue between people of the past including Wordsworth and people of today echoing throughout the mountains.
