Artist's description:

This monotype print explores the forms and colours of Wales seen from the Quay at Watchet. The colours shift and change quickly, so the printing ink was mixed directly on the tray, responding to the changing light to capture what was seen.

The image was initially seen through binoculars, which through the lenses flattened the space, allowing one to see the interaction of the colours and forms seen in a flattened state. Whilst making these prints I was listening the the music of Sir John Tavener in a relaxing state of mind.

Materials used:

Waterbased printing ink on Wansbrough Mill paper, Lacquer.
