This is the first of a series of evocative aquatint etchings created for an exhibition in Mayfair, London, entitled 'Memory', held within the magnificent building of the Over-Seas League.
It is based on a photograph of my mother sitting on the steps of her home in Budapest. It began as a pencil sketch which I then 'redrew' onto a grounded zinc plate with an etching needle. An aquatint was added to achieve the tones.
The plate is inked for every print in the limited edition and handcrafted using an etching press, meaning each one is unique.
Orders are carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, flat-packed between two layers of board and dispatched signed and tracked within four days.
