Artist's description:

Walking around the botanical gardens in Adelaide influenced this painting. Having recently completed a painting of a different Heliconia plant called a Rostrata, it spurred me on to create another.
Keeping the imagery simple and allowing the paint to do the talking, I enjoyed the journey this painting took me on. Striking colours and bold lines compliment each other whilst the softer background balances it all out.
The sides of the canvas are painted charcoal/black , contrasting fabulously with the painting making it pop even more.
The back of the canvas, as with all of my paintings, are backed with paper, date stamped and hooked and wired ready to hang, giving an overall professional finish.

Materials used:

Acrylic on canvas with light impasto texture and satin finish

Wagneriana Rainbow (2018)
