Voorlinden – 11-07-19
2 days after my 50th birthday I visited estate ‘Voorlinden’ again, together with my parents and my godmother. There is a nice museum for modern arts and Yayoi Kusama was there. When we walked out of the modern building, still impressed by her ‘infinity room’ I was struck by the abstract qualities of the old mansion, contrasting rectangles and triangles with the roundish trees. I took a picture and a month later this is the result. Just a small 1 hour drawing to capture essential geometrics in landscapes.
Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Winsor & Newton paper (10.5 x 14.8 x 0.1 cm – A6 format)
