This is a painting very different to my others, I made it during my lockdown challenge and it became super clear I'd been repeating the same setting in each different painting so I decided that since I'm making different types of paintings I should create a very 2D style one as well. At the time I'd just started learning about illusions and this includes one where geometric shapes sit at a particular spot to create the illusion that there's another image. Here people are convinced there's a vase, yet there's no actual vase being painted.

I also threw in my surrealist flare and painted the flowers different colours to their natural colour, similar to my fruit bowl painting. I needed to have a painting of a vase of flowers in my portfolio.

Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity! I'll have a custom batch made in February so you'll receive a temporary one until then.
