"Vision of a Dream" is a perfect example of Impression Realism as it depicts a true location which is, as the title suggests, a scene compiled of impressions to create an overall memory from the experience of this beach and its surroundings. I have borrowed the images of the Mozárabe tower in the village of Archez and the Alcazaba fortress in Malaga, both in Andalucia, for the horizon. They well represent the human influence and heritage underlying all life itself. The Mediterranean sea gives the feeling of timelessness and is fed by the waterfalls details, details give a feeling of memories...small one that together create the impression of a greater reality. The positioning of the viewer in the foreground sea is an attempt to create an interactive relationship and so as to become part of the painting itself. "Impression Realism"
