Original artwork description:

An acrylic plein-air painting sketch of a view to Scott Monument in Edinburgh from the gardens at a lawn cafe. The lovely dark and foreboding monument against the brightly coloured flower beds on the lawn. Cloudy, slightly showery weather meant this had to be a quick sketch therefore wonderfully freah and lightouch look and feel. A plein-air sketch in a impressionistic style. I love Edinburgh and I find it inspirational sketching there. This was just over an hour to paint. Painted in acrylic on waterford paper.
