Artist's description:

This work has been inspired for the Landscape Project, by creating an artwork in any medium based on photographs of the Landscape by others.

I have chosen to base my work on a photograph by Rosalind which depicts a photograph of the Landscape with door and flower pots. (see last image)

I have taken a different stance for this work, by digitally modifying the image, and focusing on the door, the partially open door resembles a mouth, similar by Gary Hume series of works, Door Paintings of 1990s, features faces as windows, nose positions as handles. (see second last image).

In the work, I have inserted eyes on the door, with a mouth coming from the partially open gap, and licking towards the flowers, Pop Art version of van Gogh Sunflowers, trying to steal the pollen and honey off the Bee, (Bee taken from the Bee series of works for Friends of the Earth Project). Instead of van Gogh vase, I’m suggesting it’s a Honey Pot, similar colours.

This work can be displayed horizontally (preferred by the Artist) or vertically (rotating 90’) to represent normal door position.

This work has been inspired by Gary Hume series of Door Paintings of 1990s, and Van Gogh Sunflowers.
