This monotype print is inspired from walking in the landscape surrounding Taunton near the Quantocks. The print uses waterbased printing ink on a postcard, a symbol of travel and sending news back to loved ones from afar.
The print mixes a few colours together and evidences the memory of the walk through the pressure of the hands pressing on the reverse of the postcard, responding to the memory of walking in and around the Quantocks. the print has been created in a very subtle way, evoking the form of a memory, creating an impressionistic printed form.
The print can ultimately be viewed in varous ways, although my preference is the upsided view in relation to the reverse, as seen in the main image.
