Artist's description:

This painting is in "My Chinese Ink Diary on Instagram" Series where the artist records events, feelings and experience with ink and rice paper.

The artist practises Ikebana (the Japanese Art of Flower Arrangement) regularly and the living plants that manifest life cycle have inspired the belief that “all is ephemeral” and “nothing is maintained as you expect”.

Her ink works are inspired by Ikebana, Daoism (a philosophical tradition of China) and Minimalism. In respond to the influence of social media she employs square sheet of paper for her ink works. She creates a sense of vivid imagination in monochrome with unique vocabulary of textures and techniques when applying ink.
