Artist's description:

This is a largely monochromatic painting consisting of improvised drawing in black acrylic directly onto the white primed canvas ground. Several small copper accents were then added in.

I'm finding that improvised drawing is frequently a key element in my work, and during recent years I have been exploring ways to bring it more fluently into the painting process.

I love Mid 20th Century abstraction and the Abstract Expressionist movement, as well as the automatist methods of the Surrealists, and this sensibility runs through much of my painting.

Acrylic and oil on canvas with copper foil.
16 x 12 inches.
Support: stretched cotton canvas

Unframed. Digital borders added to one image to give a sense of the work on display.
Edges are matte white, so this piece on lightweight canvas stretcher bars is ready to hang unframed from a small picture hook or even just a small panel pin if wanted. Signed and dated onthe back and sent with a certificate of authenticity.

The painting will be sent to you carefully sealed in protective packing paper and foam wrap, in two layers of sturdy, heavy duty corrugated cardboard, sealed with packing tape.

I'll ship to the address given to Artfinder, unless a note is included when ordering with an alternative address, for example a work or other daytime address for your convenience and to make it easier for delivery confirmation to be obtained.
I can also include your contact phone number on the package. If you need this, just let me know at time of ordering.
