Artist's description:

In 1896 painter Fritz Endell stated "forms and colors produce a certain emotional effect in us."

Every color possess a special expressive power. Red = sensuality, Yellow = purity, Blue = emotional coldness and, White represented something which could no longer be touched by the senses. While I do not agree completely with this for color produces very different responses in each of us. So, I decided to play a little with color. The palette is a little limited but blending and over-laying was fun. The base coat started off as yellow ochre blended with raw sienna. Then layered in parts with burnt sienna. I then incorporated a variety of colors. After the painting dried I placed glasses on the painting and created my circles (could not find my compass). In each circle I began building and blending colors with matte medium. After the painting dried, I took a sponge and placed unbleached titanium ecru in various areas of the painting. After completion I covered the painting in 2 layers of varnish. The artwork was extended to the sides so unless the buyer wants to frame it, it can be placed on the wall without a frame.

As friends have viewed this work several have stated that it seems to make them smile, to feel happy. However, each who view this will find different emotions within themselves.
