"Undersea Mystique" is painted on TerraSkin paper (a water-resistant, smooth surfaced paper made from stone). I used granulating watercolors (Moonglow and Undersea Green) as well as an iridescent blue. The surface of the paper was sprayed with water and then I added the paint with broad and sweeping brushstrokes. It's fascinating to watch how the watercolors interact with the paper and water - If you look closely at the piece you can see the textures created by the stone in the paper. A little negative painting as well as subtractive brushstrokes finished the piece.
