This must be my favorite place to stop after a brisk walk into Gamla Stan. An old coffee shop set in a small square with a huge Horse Chestnut tree offering shade in a tiny green oasis in the Old City. I've named the painting after the coffee shop, Kastagan meaning Chestnut in Swedish. It's a great place to people watch, in summer time it is filled with tourists which can be highly entertaining. I wanted to capture the timeless feel of this little patch of shade.
