A wise man once said "Life is a beautiful thing but sometimes it hurts. Pain, however, is not equal to suffering. Suffering is what we do with pain." The path of mindfulness is the path of learning acceptance. The more you try to fight the pain, the stronger it becomes. The moment you accept it as it is, it transforms. You begin to fly when you grasp the trick of maintaining your lightness within in the middle of the tension. You can't cut the ropes loose, these are the strings of life. The tighter the knots get, the lighter you need to become. All you can do is be, breath, feel, observe. You go deeper, you go further, you go higher. Lightness is the emergence of consciousness.
This image forms part of the "Sensations" project: an exploration of the relationship between the essence and the form. Taking its roots in the principles of surrealism it plays with the unconscious connections searching for a deeper meaning behind a random combination of every day objects. Then, following the liberating trumpets of abstract expressionism it poses the question "Can we really see beyond the material form?".
