Last summer we went to Umbria for a week. Our purpose was to attend the Perugia Jazz Festival (have a look online for Umbria Jazz if you're a fan of that genre). We drove the hilltop towns and went on glorious walks around the walled cities of mid-Italy.
There's an amazing feeling of scale as you drive up towards the city walls, often visible from miles away across the countryside. And once up on top of the city walls, you feel as if you can see forever.
This painting was started when I was in Italy and finished in the studio. I captured the colours of the season and the place, and the light, while I was there. The details came from my memory and impressions once I was back in the UK.
This painting comes unframed in an off-white matt. Please note that computer screens render colour differently depending on the browser used. The colour of the original may vary from the colour you see on your screen.
Every painting is securely packaged and protected in cardboard and bubble wrap.
