When painting, I like my art to develop itself! I often don't start with a final image in mind, rather a range of colours or materials. I like the image to have a life of its own and enjoy playing with the 'random'
Two Tribes is another example of this. The background is created using a combination of ink, water and spray paint, which I placed on an old window; creating a 'pool' of colour before dipping the canvas in. the water combines with the ink and spray paint and creates its own patterns and shapes. Afterwards, once dry, I added the white spray paint and ink.
The final image is simple and complex at the same time. Developed from its own movement creating a multi-layered image.
ink, spray paint and water!
