This is a heavily textured original acrylic ink on stretched canvas. Twisting, bare branches curling across the landscape with hints of vibrant colour from the teal lichens and bright green mosses.
I used a textured paste to draw the circles on the canvas and randomly applied the texture in other places. Once this was set and dry I painted my background in a mixture of blue, green and purple ink. I painted the branches in ink, building up the layers and using a variety of tools to draw the ink across the canvas. I have splattered, dripped and flicked the ink to create movement and textural details. Finally, using my blade, I scraped away top layers of ink to create fine branches and scratched, lichen details.
Acrylic ink is lightfast and waterproof so they are permanent on the canvas and do not need to sit behind glass.
The canvas is 80cm x 80cm and 4cm deep. I have painted the edges in a soft green which is in keeping with some of the greens on the painting itself.
It is strung and ready to hang or be framed as you wish.
I will package this canvas securely in a large cardboard box with plenty of internal packaging.
