Artist's description:

This moody painting evokes a mysterious atmosphere as daylight's colours become softened and blended by the falling dusk, leaving only muted versions of themselves against tones of blues, grey and purples. There is no wind - sounds are minimal, movement is subdued and there is a tranquil hush in the day's passing like the pause between breathing in and breathing out - a moment between times.

Most of the painting is created in watercolour, with big sweeping brushwork on the rich, creamy, thick paper. The dying weeds were created in acrylic inks using a technique I call 'the string thing'.

Materials used:

watercolors and acrylic inks
