An expressive, original work from the artist's Ireland Colour Series. This painting depicts a semi-abstract shore line with muted grey-greens and a hint of pale turquoise in the background. A pale moon appears in the late afternoon blue-grey sky. The surface is slightly textured to suggest sand and grit on the bay. There are hints of pale umbers, ochres, burnt sienna, orange and sage greens expressing sand and stone. This piece is inspired by the artist's recent painting spell on the far West Coast of Ireland. Painted on Box canvas. Ready to Hang. The sides are painted as part of the artwork. Signed on the front. Says Lesley: "I'm playing with muted sand, earth colours to express the fossil beach I visited at Easky on the West Coast of Ireland. I returned home to my studio and began this series of small paintings. I love to see the presence of the brush marks on the canvas surface - the moment of creation." This is a special opportunity to purchase an original painting from the artist's newest collection. The full collection of Lesley Birch's Ireland Semi-Abstract Shore Paintings can be seen in her forthcoming solo show ATMOSPHERE & EMOTION: AN IRISH JOURNEY running from June 6th until July 12th at Kunsthuis Gallery, Dutch House, York YO61 4TT.
