Artist's description:

This town sits at the top of the Tiber valley in Tuscany. It's a beautiful view that I was drawn to because of the way the town sits at the top of the valley, but even more by the light first thing in the morning. The blue of the hills behind and the softness of the colours in the valley and often a gentle mist that has settled during the night, makes the scene unforgettable. The town in itself is very special it's where the last great battle between the Milanese and Florentines took place. Leonardo's lost fresco painting, 'The battle of Anghiari' is said to be under a Vesari fresco in the Palazzo Vecchio. So the town has great artistic significance for me.
