A splendid small sculpture purchased in a local bric-a-brac shop, was the inspiration for this linocut. I researched some African fabric patterns to go with it and settled on some motifs from a resist dyed cotton textile originating in Igbo, Nigeria. It is a single block linocut, which uses paper masks to achieve the other colours.
