Tree - Red Flowers - ink and acrylic on paper. Beautiful abstract painting of this lovely tree inspired by my other painting Blossom Tree.
Angels high above would look down on this beautiful tree feeling jealous of the beautiful flowers that were more beautiful than them! You see it was a special tree that stayed bloomed all year around, the deep red velvet like flowers lasted freezing winter and strong wind. The angels tried all elements to test the tree but it was never too much for the tree when it rained heavy for days or the scorching heat of the sun for months. Angels wondered how they can destroy the flowers of this tree as it made them feel less beautiful every day. One day an angel called Eleni came to the tree disguised as an elderly woman. The old woman told the tree that she was very thirsty and if she could get a drink nearby but the tree told her that there was no water nearby. The old woman asked how the tree managed to stay healthy with everlasting red flowers if there was no water. I was made that way told the tree proudly, I have all the water I need within my tree trunk to last me a lifetime. The old woman then asked if she could have some drink from the trunk but the tree replied that she would have to cut it open but that would kill the tree and turn the beautiful red flowers white. I will die without water moaned the elderly woman, I am thirsty she said in a weakening voice. Then the old woman sat under the tree looking frail and distraught. The tree looked at the old woman and without moment of hesitation it split opened it trunk and gave the water to the dying woman. The woman then transformed back into the beautiful angel - Eleni. The selfless tree was blessed with long life by the angel for its selfless act and everlasting beautiful white flowers.
