Part of the series that started with The Manta Rays of October and November, the Feather Ray - like a hornet - is developing a scarlet/brick red colour as it flies past different scenes - here, some sacred, sulphurous seaweed - on its quest for a new beginning. There's a momentum going on with this series of pictures that is developing its own archipelago of places and beings, something rather Ursula K. Le Guin'esque and "Wizard of Earthsea-like" that I didn't expect. So, a few random brushstrokes can lead you into all sorts of places...
