Original artwork description:
As the title suggests the painting evokes a feeling of calmness. The sunset over the lake near where I live inspired me to paint this. I used layer upon layer of glazes to gradually build up the 'glow' of the sun and reflections on the water and then used a palette knife to create texture and definition. The painting is continued on the edges so there's no need to frame.
