Coastal tourist town. I'm certain this is Galveston. When Bryan and I would drive around interesting places, I'd snap pictures continually with the intention of painting from them. They didn't have to be good quality - some I shot through the windshield and what you don't see is the rear view mirrir and windshield wipers. That's how I took my reference photo for this painting.
