Artist's description:

Stilllife with a flowering twig of viburnum in a slim glass vase, a bottle of Penhaligon's perfume and a dragonfly shaped brooch.

This still life is part of a series I have been working on recently. They are all painted from life and staged in a shadowbox I have set up in my studio space. These smaller paintings allow me to experiment with different light and other effects, such as the transparency of glass for example.
Here I liked the delicacy of the flowering branch (which, by the way, is still alive - it grew roots...). The perfume bottle is a fond memory of a visit to London last summer.

The painting is sold unframed, but would need a frame. (The image with frame is for illustration purposes only). However, should the collector wish me to do so, I'd be glad to help with the framing.

Materials used:

artist's grade oil paint; gessoed MDF
