Artist's description:

A painting inspired by the layered technique I use when working on digital artwork in photoshop.

This painting is about numbers and the fact that anything over a hundred quickly degenerates into the meaningless.
Those ammonites are about four hundred million years old.
See what I mean?
Actually the painting is also about the bridge between the ages ( ammonites and the motherboard for a computer ) and hopefully makes you think about the escalation of the technological revolution.
But there is a hint at the brilliance of the human mind.
The strong totemic design at the centre of the picture is a tribute to Alfred Watkins and his like, who in turn praised the genius of early man to navigate his terrain by using marker stones, hills and trees in the archaic skill that was 'dodding'.
