This is one of my pastel paintings done with soft pastels on paper. I will ship this matted and framed protected by glass. Ready to hang on your wall!

A little bit about Pastels...

Pastel as an artistic medium is pure pigment dust held together by a transparent binder and formed in a stick or encased in a pencil. An infinite range of colour is achieved by blending the natural ultramarines, viridians, ochres in many light and dark variations from yellow through red to purple, and on into new pigments created today in modern labs.

From early cave drawings to the pastel works of Degas, Monet, Dali and to today’s abundant pastel works, artists have found pastel to be as fine and expressive a medium as oil paint. Yet, sadly, pastels didn’t get that same high reputation.

Pastel works age beautifully, their colour does not fade or yellow with the passing of time. However, they are best kept under a matted, glass-protected frame and away from direct sunlight.
