Artist's description:

This piece is entitled "Thoughts Become You" because it reminds me of chaotic thoughts one can have about a person you love, that at the same time is harmonious and has a sense of beauty and peace. This piece is finished with faint whispers of gold pigment that leave it shimmering in the sunshine like thoughts on a slow summer day. Clear shellac is applied to add sheen, while other part of left raw.

This piece was created by first creating gestural strokes of black oil paint. I then painted on layers of clear encaustic -- a wax based paint, which was mixed with iridescent blue powdered pigment. When heat, using a heat gun was applied, it fused the powdered pigments and black oil paint to create swirls. I then added quick strokes of blue, and white oil paint. There's an element of sky and birds fluttering in the top left. This piece is framed with a thin black frame that really makes it pop from the wall. It comes wired to hang. Please note, it is heavy, so you'll need to hang on a studded part of the wall.

Materials used:

oil, encaustic, shellac, irridescent pigments
