"The Year No One Won" - 36" x 36" Mixed media on canvas.

I'm sitting here thinking what to write about this piece... what inspired me? My intention was not to insult or inflame sensitivities, though to express myself in a way that makes people think about events that have transpired over the last few years and how they contributed. A lot of people are so quick to have a knee jerk reaction to something or state an opinion publicly before knowing all the details or doing some research. I’m guilty of this as well, though we all have to make a conscious effort to be better. Without understanding each other we help create an environment of hate. After the votes are cast and the results are in, when half the populace is furious and there are riots in the streets... Who really won?
