Artist's description:

I started the series titled The Trees Will Outlive Us in 2016 when I began photographing a family farm located on the Montauk Highway in Long Island, New York. The farm, homesteaded by my great-grandfather over a century ago, is no longer a working farm. The structures are being consumed by the forest that was there long before my family set foot on Long Island after arriving from Europe. After photographing the farm I composited the images of the dilapidated structures with the encroaching wilderness to suggest the sacred transformation that is taking place as nature begins to take hold. I printed these images on handmade, Japanese Washi paper (chosen for its organic quality) and have exhibited them in several venues in Northern California, where I live and maintain a studio art practice.
