Artist's description:

Part of "#Nomad" installation.
Large scale (slightly larger than life size) drawing.

My work #Nomad explores gender, identity and nomadism. The female protagonist is moving across places, "here" is becoming "there" and she is trying to maintain her integrity in the process; she is both strong and vulnerable, and she continues to carry her past and memories with her. Originally inspired by a family and personal story, visually by archival photos of women clutching handbags, I have extended my research to find more images of female ancestors from all over the world holding their handbags... #Nomad is the archetype of the lone female venturer. # Nomad, installation, 2016.
