This is a landscape painting loosely based on the sand dunes at one of my favourite beaches close to where I live in the far north of Scotland. It's a very loose impressionistic almost abstract interpretation with lots of texture using a palette knife to apply the paint and scrape paint off giving a very tactile feel to the surface of the canvas.
This is a deep set box canvas which has been painted around the edges so it can be hung as is without the need for a frame. I didn't wrap the beach scene round the edges but painted them in a similar style to the starry sky to give a more surreal feel to the painting.
I have signed the painting on the side of the canvas as I prefer to do but there isn't an option for this when listing the painting on here. As with all my artwork this has been sprayed with a satin varnish to protect it from dust and UV light.
