A little bit of Folkestone tucked away under the bridge at the harbour. It is my favourite part as it is so reminiscent of my childhood. There is a lovely sheltered sandy beach just out of sight down the end, little cafe, shellfish stall, great pubs, our famous Mermaid sculpture and atmosphere by the bucket load.
Folkestone has a lovely long beach bordered by our gorgeous country park with beautiful walks and lovely views but little 'Sunny Sands', always full of the sound of children playing on the beach, is my favourite. I can close my eyes and I am back in 1955 with my mum and gran, sandwiches with real sand and a jug of tea. Bliss.
