I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with surrealism a little while indulging my love of the night sky in all its beauty and this is the latest in a series of paintings I think of as my 'space junk' collection - random man made objects floating in the cosmos.
Everyday objects spark ideas for these paintings - so far I've painted boats, deckchairs and slices of lemon in space and being a fan of seventies disco I loved the idea of a big disco ball shining down in place of the moon!
This was painted in acrylic spray paints for the night sky and acrylic paint for the disco ball. As with all my paintings, it has been sprayed with a satin varnish which helps to protect it from dust and damage from UV light.
The canvas is a deep edge box canvas which doesn't need to be framed. As with most of my paintings this has been signed on the side of the canvas rather than the front but there isn't an option for this when listing the painting.
