Artist's description:

An atmospheric coastal painting that captures the moment before a storm breaks out. You can smell the electricity and energy in the air. With a fresh colour palette this painting visually awakens mind and excites the soul. An elegant piece for any interior.

A little bit about my techniques used to create The Smell of The Storm;
I have used a refreshing palette of cool acrylics to capture this delicate yet electrifying landscape. I painted it with a range of pieces of card and plastic squeegees which allowed me to add further texture and geometric interest.

This painting comes ready to hang. Once you have carefully unpacked your painting you can hang it straight up in your chosen space, as it comes with picture cord and D-rings attached. No framing is required either as the sides of the canvas are painted black giving the painting a striking contrast that will make it stand out. I have used a UV satin glaze to protect and preserve the painting.

The Smell of The Storm has my signature on the front bottom right corner and to the rear. And also its very own Certificate of Authenticity.

About my work:
There is a constant urge within me to capture in paint the forces we share with nature. I find myself in awe of our beautiful world; the energy and atmosphere that surrounds us in the landscape. I look to the skies and landscape to find peace, to find my anchor and inner calm; translating these emotions through my paintings for others to enjoy and find within them, a lasting solstice.
I usually paint landscapes and seascapes from memory, by doing so I create semi abstract scenes that capture the feeling of being back in that place. Due to the abstract nature of my work, the locations can be perceived as anywhere the viewer wishes to take them; transporting them back to a sense of calm and wonder.
I use rich and seductive colour palettes that visually awaken and refresh the mind. Subtle textures achieved through brush, palette knife and found objects such as old library cards or bits of found wood give my paintings a beautiful tactile appeal.
I employ the highest quality acrylics, oils and glazes to create my paintings. All of which are on triple primed cotton canvas, stretched over gallery quality, deep-edged heavy duty stretcher bars.
I sign all of my paintings on the front bottom right corner and to the rear. And all come with their very own Certificate of Authenticity.

Materials used:

Acrylics and a semi gloss varnish.
