Artist's description:

I saw a couple of art works dominated by the color red and the artist explained to me how he revered the color red for a great deal of properties (emotional and psychological) that it has - so, I decided to complete a work predominantly in the color of red and see what emotions it can bring out - so far I just seem to enjoy the different red hews, no major emotional outflow that I am aware of other than a bit of distemper.

The Shaman and other figures were done in same way as previously described using thin plastic ribbons to create an outline and form, scratching out areas or filling them in as process develops to form the shaman and the standing figures. For the background and middle ground I used an old watercolor paper that I had marked up during my very early "wet" experiments and had been abandoned for over 30 years. I used a plastic to spread a new layer of red acrylic and added some extra elements (ovals and thin rectangles) cut out externally prior to incorporating them.

Materials used:

Mixed media - Acrylic ink, watercolors, Elmers glue on paper.
