The character from the film The Wizard of Oz. In those days special effect where yet bits and pieces, bodge together with glue and stuff. I relate to that as an artist. In this second picture from the same character, i tried to mix "Trompe-l'œil" (the masked-face peeping through the surface), and basic painted depiction. The aim was to reach a kind of painting that would be a metaphore of itself
