Artist's description:

This very highly textured painting is inspired by ideas from modern philosophy and virtual reality. Recent philosophers such as Barthes, Baudrillard and Derrida etc. comment on the idea of reality (real things) being lost for the sake of virtual reality (the appearance of real things but without meaning). All interesting ideas to play with.

Textures and marks are included that could be seen as symbols and signs. Surface features are layered, scraped and scratched giving a sculptural feel to the work. I like the painting to have a strong immediate visual impact from a distance but also to be increasingly rewarding when viewed close up.

Signed on the back and ready to be hung. Frame not needed. The images of rooms are computer generated so the scale is only approximate.
