An original, handmade paper collage of the beautiful Pump Room in Bath and it's part it plays in the work of Jane Austen.
I was inspired to choose the historic Pump Room in Bath for 2 reasons. Firstly it is an iconic part of the Bath cityscape and secondly it features in Jane Austen’s novels- Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.
2017 marked the 200th year anniversary of Jane Austen’s death, a perfect reason for me to make a piece of art that celebrates her work, her links to Bath and the city itself.
The collage is made up of a variety of paper materials relevant to the scene including;
The founding history of the building and the City of Bath, the significance Bath plays in Jane Austen's life and her novels and extracts from the two novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.
A truly unique piece of artwork for Bath and Jane Austen fans.
This picture is FRAMED in a simple white wood frame with double mount and comes with a signed description of the contents of the collage attached tot he back.
Materials used:
Mix of papers; patterned and text. Sealed with Matte medium.
