This painting is my Homage to a great Spanish artist of the XVII century Francisco de Zurbaran, who's work I continue to discover, to admire, and to learn from. In the past,
I have copied several of his paintings on requests. This one, however, is my Self-Portrait following closely to Zurbaran's "The Passion of St Serapion" (1628), shown above

I find it fascinating, that in spite of a rapidly changing world around me, - as a painter, I pursue a profession that hardly changed in centuries. There are the same canvases, the same paints, the same brushes, and most hopefully, the same passions!
