This engineering/science fiction themed book sculpture is carved from a lovely volume of the 1953 American Peoples Encyclopedia.
The book is glued in the closed position; it is no longer meant to be opened. All paper surfaces are coated with a UV resistant clear medium to prevent any fading if it is ever exposed to natural sunlight. If not abused, this book sculpture should last for generations.
A metal hanger has been permanently attached to the back of the book for easy wall hanging. It looks nice standing on a bookshelf, too.
It is engraved, with the year, on the bottom of the book, out of view.
