Artist's description:

I painting was made during the summer when the temperature was 45 degrees, so I was up and there painting at 5.00am. All the fisherman were already up very quietly going about their business. The light was fantastic at this time, the old city is so beautiful sitting on the edge of two large natural lagoons. This part of the city has been left to crumble and yet the local people carry on regardless. The beauty is hard to miss even though some of the buildings have collapsed the beauty hasn't faded. The stillness of the water and the light early in the morning are captivating.

Materials used:

Oil paint on a primed gesso panel
