Artist's description:

This work is a representation of the experience of being a musician. Over the years I have known several experimental musicians whom I admire as artists and with whom I have worked on my film and music performance entitled Fragmented Cities. The band called The Fire Judges (put together by myself and the musician Barry Andrews) played their music compostion live to accompany the film as it was being projected on the screen. This painting is about the musician and his source of inspiration. The figures are surrounded by the colour blue which to me evokes a song by David Bowie - Sound and Vision, especially the lyrics “Blue, blue, electric blue, That’s the colour of my room, Where I will live, Blue, blue” and “Waiting for the gift of sound and vision”.
