The Letter in Conygar Woods, original Oil on panel Painting in the frame shown, with signature and authenticity stamp on back.
This work was inspired by some ruins I discovered in Conygar woods near the medieval village of Dunster in the Exmoor National Park. They were actually a seventeenth century folly associated with the nearby Dunster castle and they give the woodland a very particular atmosphere. As is often the case with my work, I mix and match time periods, so we have a figure from the 1920s set in Conygar woods today. Many of these ancient landscapes haven't changed significantly in centuries, which is one of the things that intrigues me about them.
Painting dimensions are 16" x 23", Outside dimensions of frame measures 22.5" x 30". I can supply this work in a modern frame at no additional cost if you prefer.
I package my larger works in custom made wooden crates and ship by reputable carriers which offers them the best possible protection in transit. The crates are quite heavy and bulky which does unfortunately add a little to the air freight costs outside the UK.
